Dutch exam tonight

I’ve got a big dutch exam in 4 hours which I’m shitting myself about. I need to get a good pass with this or I won’t be able to sign up for the level 2 course which begins at the end of this one. That would be bad!

I’m going to need to speak dutch so I can convince a dutch film producer to give me and my filmmaking partner money to shoot a short film in 2007. I could speak to someone in english, but the chances of actually getting money are much better if you can speak dutch because as was explained to me, if you can speak dutch your social standing in the community goes up 200%.

Always though, in these moments of extreme pressure that I find it easiest to procrastinate. How come I don’t have a stress gland like everyone else?

You don’t have a stress gland like everyone else because you’re an Aussie! “No worries”, that’s what I was told you people say over there ;)

But seriously, you’ll do fine! No worries!

X,

Me!

He Padwanna,
As i’m right, you are in the middle off your’e excame right now. Really stressfull, i did excams three times in my live and I hated it, still dreaming about it sometimes. So i feel for you, but what i read in your former blogs is that you are really into Dutsch right now, so i’m sure you will do fine. Want me to write in Dutch in order for you to learn? I love Dutch sayings, because they seem rather senseless but pretty funny. Like “als het kalf verdonken is dempt men de put” any idea what it means. Are you allso obligated to do the integration test? I read some off the questions and they are really ridiculous, i think half off the native Dutch will probably fail the test. I’m thinking off moving to Australia i’m so tired of this climate, luckyli i will do fine with English overthere, probably they will find i have a strange accent. How are your goals coming along or did your shoulder prevent you from any activity? He Padwanna take care and talk to you soon, groetjes Pippi. En laat je niet kisten wie een kuil graaft voor een ander die valt er zelf in!

I’m proud of you!

Now if you can teach me English next, that would be most helpful :-)

Hi Anon.

Yeah we do “no worries” a lot. But I think in my case it’s an unhealthly large dose of apathy stirred in with a double portion of laziness.

To All,

Thanks for the kind support and encouragement. It was very much appreciated.

And as the gods were with me, I passed my exam. 10/14 for the written and 8/10 for the spoken. I can now graduate to the next level course beginning in about 6 weeks.

I wonder if I’ll forget how to speak english?

Hmmm…

Hi Pip,

Lovely to hear from you, as always.

Well the exam went well, and so my dutch keeps on improving, and luckily I don’t have to do the integration course! I really like dutch sayings too. One of my favourites is

Bloemetjes buiten zetten

Which for the none dutch translates in english to; to put the flowers out. Which actually means to go out on the town and have a good time and do your best to get laid! :) Very cool saying!

Wow, so you want to move to Australia. You know, you would love it there. Really. Even though I still have no clue who you are, I think you would love it! :) Are you really serious about it?

My shoulder is getting better but I’ve had to take two weeks off training. Which really annoys me but yeah, probably better in the long run. But it has given me more time for other things, like whinging, and also some creative projects.

I’d say for the time being stick with english on your comments so others who aren’t from here have the benefit of being able to read your thoughts. It’s very international here I can tell you :)

Thanks for stopping by and talk to you again soon.

Padwanna.

I’m not familiar with that saying you had at the bottom. I’ll get my idle distraction to translate it for me! :)

Ha ha Padwanna, So your idle distraction is Dutch? Guess she is more then just a distraction. So de bloemetjes buiten zetten means sex for you? Well it means what you want it to be. And yes sex is always a good celebration off almost anything. Good to hear that you past the excam! Congratulations! This week i was surfing the net to get out off this godforsaken shithole, because of the weather that is. Saw a ticket for Brasil for 250 euro, had to leave immediately, was not eable, but it’s still one off my goals to live work with children there. Moving to Australia sounds great right now, still havn’t win the jackpot yet, a pitty. Maar beter een vogel in de hand dan tien in de lucht. Meaning i go for a short visit to France allso sunny and warm. Have a good weekend and enjoy the flowers. Groetjes Padwanna
