The lost return just in time for their birthday

My mother always used to say to me; if you’ve got nothing to say, the don’t say anything! And I guess that’s been what it’s like for me over the last six weeks or so, I simply ran out of interesting stuff to say. Maybe that’s what they call writers block; that void when you sit down at the keyboard and the only thing that comes to mind is a gnawing realisation that there isn’t anything on your mind. So I sort of figured instead I wouldn’t bother with writing until I was ready. You might call it downtime!

That period also coincided with the last weeks of my old life before my birthday. Always a busy time for me really, because I always end up in this hellish period of introspection. Birthdays are always a marker to see how far you have come in life from the one before. I find they are natural points in time where you assess things and work out if you have gone forwards or back. This is important to me, especially as I get older.

I guess things have gone forward. Maybe not as much as I would have liked, but enough for me to feel satisfied that the year has been good. I discovered my heart again, but also discovered that there is still the past that lingers, and taints my feelings and thoughts. It will have be something I finally deal with this year.

So as Samwise said to Rosie right at the end to finish it all; I’m back!

Talk to you all again soon!

He Padwanna,

Mums are always right, If there is nothing to write then don’t, but the funny thing is that when you write in public, you are not any longer the only one to judge if it’s worth what you are writing or not. I like your descriptions off your small adventures in this city for instance. But luckily you are still the one to decide if you feel like writing or not. Going to London, well have a nice time overthere, i went to Barcelone i love that city it has everyhing that Amsterdam has and good wetter, i like the people, the only thing is that they are very noisy allso at 5 in the morning, every day. Thanks for inviting me to your small get together, it allready gave me a lot off fun thinking about it. Introducing myself as Mrs Pippi Langkous. I’m not so sure if that’s a very good idea to suprise our mutual friend like that, but i would like to sent you a pippi’s birthday present. So i will sent you an e-mail so you can sent me your adress oke? So enjoy your birthday and talk to you soon Groetjes Pippi

Survey after survey has shown that it is unhappy people who tend to be most self-focused and are often socially withdrawn, brooding and even antagonistic. Happy people in contrast, are generally found to be more sociable, flexible and creative, and are able to tolerate life’s daily frustrations more easily than unhappy people. And, most important, they are found to be more loving and forgiving than unhappy people…
Happiness is determined by one’s state of mind than by external events. - Dr Howard C Cutler…

Hello Dear Pip,

Well thank you for the vote of confidence in my writing. I’m pretty close to getting the other site finished now too, so it won’t be long before you can actually read my amsterdam adventures in it’s own story format. :) Big plans afoot for this year with this stuff :)

How was Barcelona, was it nice? Did you have a good time? Let me know as I’d love to hear.

Well it would be a laugh to see the surprise on our mutual friends face. But I will understand if you don’t want to! :)

Take care and talk to you soon, Pip! :)

Padwanna.

Hi Lovely Mercedes,

You know that is a good theory, except all the greatest writers in the world have tendended to be withdrawn tortured souls! :)

But it’s okay, secretly I am pretty happy, but I just don’t like to say as I’m working on the tortured writer thing! :))

I’ll be in touch soon, as I’m London right now! :)
