well, it's true. confidence has nothing to do with physical beauty but when you're on-line all that is there of you is a picture!!

@ anna

is that really right? somehow that doesn't seem so. i mean confidence is not really related to physical beauty and confidence is much more powerful as it's a prerequisite to charisma, which is what really gets people noticed.

physical attractiveness tends to make people more receptive at first meetings, but after that it's personality that takes over, so if you don't have anything behind the facade you tend to come across badly after the initial judgement period has progressed into a personal analysis.

but are people really more receptive to attractive people? i wouldn't think so. but this could be a cultural thing as well, as you're from the US so it might be a more predominate attitude there than other parts of the world. interesting idea though.

why don't you write anymore? you used to be so regular with new posts, and now months go by. have you lost the passion for it? i see you're pretty active on twitter these days, so has that taken over from blogging?

Part of what you've missed in the analysis is the fact that beautiful people get more positive reinforcement from others, starting as babies. People smile at them more, people listen to them, they are more likely to be hired, etc. It might make the social world a less scarier place (compared to the "uglies" you talk about). So, why wouldn't they consequently have more friends (on facebook or otherwise)? Just a thought.

You know what? I was typing in all lowercase for years back around 1999, and switched to proper spelling when I realized how sad it was that hardly anybody can spell any longer. You're behind the trend curve, man!
