Really I couldn’t send him home now, as I knew if I was him in a foreign country with a foreign girlfriend out to kill me, I’d want to fall back on a friend. So I said to him it would be fine to stay as long as he wanted. Little did I know that would be 8 months, and a ride that would be worth writing about.
