I haven't tried Spotify, and I just looked at Grooveshark. Regardless, I just wanted to let you know this review is really shittily written.

You need incorporate more examples and description and fewer personal opinions. If you do decide to include your personal opinions, don't just say something along the lines of "just look at the proof, this service is way better than the other service," but instead provide the proof.

Well I go through periods of being fit and in good condition and then go out of condition and then back again. It's a cycle much like a lot of things in life. But yeah, you're right, good to be reasonable shape mentally and physically as it sets you up for the next part of life.

Thanks for the comment.

Piece of advice, arrive at 49 in good physical and mental shape. It makes a big difference. if you let that go and you don't have a trophy/or a good wife with cute kids to settle with, life can be a roller coaster.Unless, of course, you made enough money to keep yourself entertained.

Hey Andy,

I agree with you. Google are being incredibly savvy and by bringing out Local Search, Google Maps, Google Business, Google+, Google Mobile AND Google SEO & PPC, businesses have got to be jumping on the bandwagon and embracing these marketing channels.

The trend I'm seeing at the moment is that a lot of businesses are jumping from Facebook to Google+ as they think this will be the next 'big' thing. This simply isn't true.

In all my years in online marketing, there is always going to the next 'big' thing. For me, you've got to market yourself and business in ALL of the channels available as they all serve a very DIFFERENT role to the other. The holy grail for a business with their online marketing is Universal Search which is using all of the channels and clearing identifying their role and what the ROI is. Coca Cola do this exceptionally well.

I get asked frequently by businesses 'What network or platform should I being spending my time and money?' and my answer to this is all of them. Each network serves your business.

Nicky

PS - Thanks for the free 'Plug' :)

Hi Nik!

Nice to get you in the discussion in your role as a digital strategist.

So given the scope of these changes Google are effectively stacking the deck then with respect to business critical search results. I understand whey they are doing that, but I think there will be a backlash because their results will no longer be impartial but really enforcing one more layer of consumer service lock-in. It's a dangerous thing to do because then it creates an opportunity for a new group to offer a competing service.

That's a future scenario. For now, clearly businesses require an actively managed range of social media and digital channels for brand promotion and awareness. This is something that is becoming increasingly important as digital services come into an age of maturity. For personal use though I think success is largely going to rely on the crowd connection that is at the core of friends network. If individual users don't have a compelling reason to change, they won't.

What I want to see is, in 2012 when the big group of 4 (Amazon, Google, Facebook and Apple) go head to head, what the resulting shakeup of ubiquitous social network services causes the landscape to look like and how that will then be adopted by the masses.

Great blog post.

Google are now saying that their Spiders & SEO Algorithms are like bees to honey with Google+ posts. To even stand a chance on ranking on Google its got to be about Youtube, Google Mobile, and ultimately, Google+ with a Google+ button on your website. Therefore, oodles of people are moving over to Google+ to get the edge on rankings.

Facebook will never be able to compete with this unless of course, they partner more with MSN etc blah blah blah.

Will Google+ as a Social Network gain more traffic and frequent users than Facebook? I don't think so. However, for people who are marketing themselves and their business/products/services on Google, you've got to be utilising Google+.

There's my humble opinion on the Facebook v Google+ debate :)

Ah... and here's a follow up post that illustrates in a small way what I was talking about.

Interesting to see that the top Google people are only now starting to use their own social network.
